April 12, 2023 Look Out for Enrollment Fraud

Celebrating National Volunteer Month

April is National Volunteer Month! This is a special time for SMP to honor and recognize the enormous contributions that volunteers provide every day. Volunteers affect so many lives every day in various ways, in every community, in every corner of the country. The time volunteers invest is significant: Americans volunteer 8.8 billion hours annually.

SMP is grateful to our team of volunteers who support the mission of educating Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers on how to prevent, detect, and report health care fraud. If the fraudsters are out there, we will use our resources to oppose their attempts to deceive the system. And you are an essential part of this effort. You are invaluable to our success, and we want to thank you for all you do!

In addition to recognizing the volunteer team, SMP is also excited to introduce a new volunteer recruitment video. This three-minute video reinforces the value of volunteering and describes the various opportunities within our organization. SMP partnered with HVS Advertising & Marketing to produce this video: Join the SMP Volunteer Team! Volunteering provides a sense of purpose, structure, and engagement in your community. And the health benefits of volunteering have been appropriately noted over and over. Your involvement will have an enormous impact on those who are helped.

If you would like to volunteer, or know someone who might be interested in volunteering, please view Join the SMP Volunteer Team! then go to Become A Volunteer – Wisconsin Senior Medicare Patrol to learn more or contact us at (888) 818-2166.
