Did you know that Older Americans Month is recognized each May? The Administration for Community Living (ACL) leads the nationwide observance of Older Americans Month, designating this as a time to recognize the contributions of older Americans’, highlight trends in aging, and showcase the commitment to serving older adults in communities across the country.

The 2024 theme is Powered by Connection, which recognizes the importance that connections have on our health and personal well-being. Meaningful relationships and social connections are so important, this month and every month.

Are you looking for a way to be Powered by Connection in your community? The Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) could be that link! We continue to grow our team of volunteers to help spread the message of SMP with Medicare beneficiaries across the state. Our volunteer team members help with mission delivery by staffing booths at community events, presenting information to groups, and assisting individuals who call our toll-free helpline for assistance.
