Updates to Medicare

It’s that time of year when we have just said goodbye to the month of December along with its tradition of reflecting on the year that has just ended. We had a chance to look back at the top news stories, the year’s best photos, highest rated TV shows and top grossing movies. And now January is the time to look forward, to focus on what lies ahead in the coming year. It’s important to be mindful of and prepared for any changes or adjustments that will affect us. If you are on Medicare, you will experience changes and adjustments to your coverage in 2023.  A few of the key changes are, in 2023, the standard Part B premium is $164.90, which is a decrease from the $170.10 premium in 2022. Also, thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, all Part D-covered vaccines, including the shingles vaccine, will be $0. Additionally, copays for each Part D-covered insulin product will be limited to $35 per month.

For information on all the changes, please click here for the: Medicare Minute, or you can go to the Medicare website. You can also contact your local Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) to speak with a benefit specialist to learn more or have your questions answered.

If you have any questions or concerns about Medicare fraud, abuse, or errors, please feel free to contact us for assistance. We can be reached on our toll-free helpline: 1-888-818-2611, or at smp-wi@gwaar.org.
